Schools in New York will soon shut down for the summer but before the kids and families run for the parks and hills and beyond, Trellis is partnering with Thrive Collective to invite parents and kids from PS 104 and PS 127 to join community groups and people from the surrounding neighborhoods for one of this year's school mural projects.

What is a mural project? Well, as Thrive NYC describes...

“School Murals by Thrive NYC creates public art that transforms public schools into centers of creative collaboration and change. They raise the bar of possibility as students, faculty, families, and artists collaborate to conceive and execute a shared vision. Their permanence serves as a continuing reminder of what’s possible when communities and schools partner for sustainable change.”

You don't need to be an artist to join in.

All you need is some time [and close you don't mind getting paint on] for one or more of these Saturdays [April 16, 23 - with more dates to follow] to meet up and partner with Trinity Grace's own and Thrive Collective resident Sophia Reed and Jessica Olah as they leads us in bringing to life the art and concept of the students from PS 104 and PS 127 for this school mural.

This campaign is about taking practical steps to reshape our summer plans around opportunities to bless and serve our communities. And beyond reshaping our plans, the hope is that these moments are used to reshape how we see the beauty and the people that make up our great city as we join in its renewal.
